General Piercing Care Information

Be sure to follow the care information listed to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Eyebrow

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

3-4 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing only with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign hands.

Removing and moving the piercing jewelry

Do not remove the piercing jewelry during the first 3 months or move or play around unnecessarily.

Disinfection

Clean and disinfect your piercing and the injury for 2 weeks twice a day with octenisept and a cotton swab.

Work & Sports

With your new piercing, you can easily work or exercise. However, you should protect your piercing during the healing phase from impacts (e.g. ball hits, boxes), from pressure and friction (e.g. helmet) and from dirt and dust.

Note that you are not allowed to remove your piercing for the first 3 months for training – if necessary, cover it with a patch for the sport.

If you are exposed to fine dust at work, we recommend that you protect your piercing during the first 2 weeks with Prontolind Gel (available from us in the studio or in the shop).

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

In the first 2-3 weeks, be free to avoid swimming pool, sauna, solarium and bubble bath. Sea water or salt water is not a problem. However, contact with sand is unfavorable.

Showers

You can easily shower with your new piercing. It is important that you rinse the piercing well with water at the end to remove shower residue.

Control & Shorten the Piercing

Come to our studio after about 2 weeks. We will control your piercing and shorten it if necessary.

Jewellery change

The first jewelry change should not be made before healing. This is especially true for rings that can injure the wound canal. We will gladly change the jewelry after about 8 weeks.

Care after healing

You can clean your piercing with water as part of your “daily basic cleaning”. From time to time it is recommended to clean the piercing well, e.g. with a cotton swab (also in the gaps). Simply use water or a disinfecting agent.

Piercing attachments

It is possible that piercing attachments loosen or completely detach from the piercing. Check the closure parts regularly and “pull them” if necessary. We accept no liability for lost essays.

Belly

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

3-9 months.

If you exercise, protect your piercing for the first 2 weeks with a patch. For professional activities with dust or dirt, we recommend that you protect the piercing for the first 2 weeks with a patch or Prontolind gel (available from us in the studio or in the shop).

Clothes

Make sure that no belt buckles, trouser cuffs, buttons or rubber bandexors irritate your piercing or exert strong pressure on it.

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

For the first 4 weeks, be free to use the swimming pool, sauna, solarium and bubble bath. Sea water or salt water is not a problem. However, contact with sand is unfavorable.

Showers

You can easily shower with your new piercing. Be sure to rinse the belly button well with water at the end to thoroughly remove any shower residue.

Post-check & shorten the piercing

Come to us after about 2-3 weeks. We will control your piercing and, if necessary, shorten it.

Jewellery change

The first jewelry change should not be made 3 months ago, otherwise the stitch canal will be injured when the new jewelry is inserted. If the first use gets too boring for you, you can have new essays attached to us in our shop.

Problems with healing

Abdominal navel piercings are sensitive and healing can take a relatively long time. Even if the piercing looks good from the outside, this does not mean that it is definitely healed. The inner stitch channel can be very sensitive and susceptible even after a long time. Be patient and avoid frequent jewelry changes and heavy jewelry at first.

Care after healing

Clean your piercing regularly with water as part of the daily hygiene in the shower and then make sure that the belly button is dry again.

Healing time

3-9 months.

Protect your piercing during the first 2 weeks to exercise with a patch and good clothing (e.g. sports bra) to prevent severe friction and irritation. In everyday life, a patch can be worn at the beginning, but see that the piercing is not permanently glued and can breathe.

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

For the first 4 weeks, be free to use the swimming pool, sauna, solarium and bubble bath. Sea water or salt water is not a problem. However, contact with sand is unfavorable.

Showers

You can shower easily with your new piercing. Be sure to rinse the piercing well with clean water at the end so that no shower residues remain on the piercing.

Oral contact

Do not have oral contact during the first 4 weeks.

Control & Shorten the Piercing

Come to us after about 2-3 weeks. We will control your piercing and, if necessary, shorten it.

Jewellery change

The first jewelry change should not be made 3 months ago. This is especially true for rings that can injure the wound canal. However, the attachments on the nipple piercing can be replaced beforehand, but it is important that the rod is not removed from the stitch channel. We are happy to help you in the shop.

Problems with healing

Nipple piercings are sensitive and healing can take a relatively long time. Even if the piercing looks good from the outside, this does not mean that it is definitely healed. The inner stitch channel can be very sensitive and susceptible even after a long time. Be patient, take care of your piercing and avoid frequent jewelry changes.

Care after healing

Clean your piercing regularly in the shower with clean water and then with a cotton swab as part of your daily hygiene. Often residues from sweating or sebum are deposited on the attachments or the rod, which must be removed carefully.

Piercing attachments

It is possible that piercing attachments loosen or completely detach from the piercing. Check the closure parts regularly and “pull them” if necessary. We accept no liability for lost essays.

Cheek

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

6-9 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing on the lip only with washed hands. No contact by tobacco fingers.

Removing and moving the piercing jewelry

Never remove the jewelry on your own during Cheek Piercing, otherwise it is difficult to re-insert. Avoid playing around the piercing during healing and, above all, chewing on the backs of the rods, as the piercing falls out when the back is bitten. In addition, you can prevent unnecessary swelling and overstimulation of the piercing.

Disinfection

Clean and disinfect your piercing and the injury externally for 2 weeks twice a day with octenisept and a cotton swab.

Oral hygiene

Pay attention to good oral hygiene during 2 weeks. Rinse the mouth area with still water after eating and drinking and use a mouthwash or sage or chamomile tea after brushing your teeth.

Makeup and creams

If possible, permanently refrain from applying makeup close to the puncture points, otherwise it may clog the stitch canal. The same applies to creams and other facial care products.

Work & Sports

With your new piercing, you can easily work or exercise. However, you should protect your piercing from punches (e.g. ball hits, boxing) and from dirt and dust during the healing phase. If you are exposed to fine dust at work, we recommend that you protect your piercing for the first 2 weeks with Prontolind Gel (available from us in the studio or in the shop).

Alcohol & Tobacco

Do not use alcohol and tobacco for 1 week. If you still smoke, rinse the mouth area with water or chamomile or salbeitee.

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

In the first 2-3 weeks, be free to avoid swimming pool, sauna, solarium and bubble bath. Sea water or salt water is not a problem. However, contact with sand is unfavorable.

Control & Shorten the Piercing

Come to us after about 1 week. We will control your piercing and shorten it if necessary. We do the same again after 2-3 weeks. When piercing Cheek, make sure that the jewelry is not too tight, otherwise the piercing can swell up again and cause complications.

Jewellery change

Usually only the attachments are exchanged during Cheek Piercing – our shop staff will be happy to help you. If the rods still need to be replaced, do not do this independently, but let us help you in the shop or studio.

Patience in healing

The Cheek Piercing needs patience until complete healing. Pay attention to good oral hygiene and do not chew on the backs of the piercing. Make sure your piercing isn’t covered in makeup and creams.

Christina

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

3-6 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing only with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign, unwashed hands.

Moving and removing the piercing jewelry

To ensure that the swelling decreases rapidly, you should not move and touch the piercing too much. Try to avoid pressure points due to too tight underwear or trousers.

Do not remove your piercing independently during the first 3 months, as the stitch canal has not been completely healed by then. If you want to change the essays, we will be happy to help you in the shop.

Hygiene

For the first 3-4 weeks, refrain from sauna, solarium, swimming pool and foam baths. Contact with foreign bodily fluids (saliva and semen) should also be avoided.

Care

During the first 2 weeks, the piercing should always be washed off in the daily hygiene of PH-neutral soap and then rinsed under the shower with clean water and pushed back and forth until all the foam has been washed off. Dry well after showering and clean with octenisept and a cotton swab.

The disinfection with Octenisept should be done twice daily during the first 2 weeks. Do not use wound ointment or cream. Contact with self-urine is beneficial to healing and cannot cause infection.

Intercourse

In the first 2 weeks we recommend you to refrain from oral intercourse. Likewise, the piercing should not come into contact with sperm or lubricant. If traffic is too heavy, there may be post-bleeding. Therefore, we recommend that you handle piercing very carefully. After sexual intercourse, the piercing must be washed off with clean water.

Shaving

Be careful when shaving that you do not violate the plastic of the piercing with the razor. If you don’t catch all the hair near the puncture points, the easiest way to pluck the rest is with tweezers.

Sport and work

As a rule, you can work with your new piercing right away and do sports. Best with comfortable, not too tight underwear, so that there is no too much friction and irritation of the piercing.

Control of piercing

After 2-3 weeks you can spontaneously come to our studio for a follow-up check. We will control the piercing and, if necessary, shorten it a little.

general

If there is more severe post-bleeding, prolonged swelling or pain, please contact us in the studio. Do not remove the piercing on your own.

Healing time

3 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing only with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign hands.

Removing and touching the piercing jewelry

Do not remove the piercing jewelry and do not touch or play around unnecessarily.

No disinfectant, water or shower

For your piercing to heal, it should be kept dry for the first 10 days. For this purpose, avoid contact with disinfectants, water and shower.

Protection of your piercings and patches

Protect your piercing continuously for the first 72 hours with a waterproof patch.

Protect your piercing afterwards for 10 days during sleep, sports, showers and dirty work with a waterproof patch.

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

In the first 2-3 weeks, be sure to avoid swimming pool, sea and sea water, sauna, solarium and bubble bath.

Jewellery Change & Control

The first change of jewellery should not be done independently. We recommend you to come by after about 6 weeks. We will control your piercing and loosen the attachment for the first time, so that no residues of healing get stuck under the attachment. If you like, the essay can be replaced for the first time.

Inflammation of your piercing

How do inflammation develop?

  • Inflammation can be triggered by mechanical influences such as plucking, pulling or beating (for example, while sports, changing clothes or unconsciously during sleep)
  • A weak immune system (e.g. in case of illness) can promote an inflammatory process

How does inflammation show up?

  • Inflammation is manifested by redness, swelling and tension. The swelling and tension increases continuously due to the formation of pus and reaches its peak usually after 3-5 days

How do I care for inflammation?

  • If you have no experience in handling your piercing:

Pull apart the area around your piercing 1 x day with clean hands to drain pus. Clean your piercing with a disinfectant (e.g. octenisept).

We strongly recommend that you visit us to check the piercing and, if necessary, clean it

  • Do you have experience in handling your piercing:

Remove the attachment of your piercing 1 x day with clean hands. Pull apart the area around your piercing and let the pus drain. Then clean the piercing area and the attachment with disinfectant and put the attachment back on. You can also leave the piercing without an attachment for a few days if you want to. We recommend you visit us to check the piercing and clean it if necessary

Warranty and removal

During the first year you have warranty on your piercing. Of course, we will help you remove your piercing for free for a lifetime.

Lip - (Ashley, Eskimo)

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

2-3 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing on the lip only with washed hands. No contact by tobacco fingers.

No external contact

In the first 2 weeks no contact with foreign hands, mouths and tongues (intense kissing). If you still have external contact, it is recommended to clean your piercing with a little octenisept. Kissing in the beginning can lead to severe swelling.

Swelling and post-bleeding

The piercing in the middle of the lip can lead to more swelling after the piercing, therefore make sure that the jewelry is always long enough and support the swelling with cooling of the lip. Post-bleeding or bruising can also occur after the sting, these usually recede independently and can also be reduced with cooling of the lip. If you feel unsafe, you may come to our studio at any time for a follow-up check.

Removing and moving the piercing jewelry

Do not remove the piercing jewelry during the first 3 months or move or play around unnecessarily. Be careful not to chew on the back of the piercing, otherwise the jewelry may be lost.

Disinfection

Clean and disinfect your piercing and the injury for 2 weeks twice a day with octenisept and a cotton swab.

Lip care

Since the disinfectant can dry out the lips quickly, make sure not to clean the piercing more than twice a day with Octenisept. If further cleaning is necessary during the day, use water. Do not use lip gloss and lipstick for 4 weeks, otherwise they will clog the stitch canal. If you have dry lips, you can carefully apply a little neutral lip pomade or Vaseline with a cotton swab.

Oral hygiene

Pay attention to good oral hygiene during 2 weeks. Rinse the mouth area with still water after eating and drinking and use a mouthwash or sage or chamomile tea after brushing your teeth.

Work & Sports

With your new piercing, you can easily work or exercise. However, you should protect your piercing from punches (e.g. ball hits, boxing) and from dirt and dust during the healing phase. Lip band

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

6-8 weeks.

Wash hands

The piercing on the lip, if at all, only touch with washed hands. No contact by tobacco fingers.

Removing and moving the piercing jewelry

Do not remove the piercing jewelry during the first 3 months or move or play around unnecessarily. Since the lip band is a thin ribbon, playing around can lead to tearing of the tape.

Swelling

Due to its nature as a mucous membrane, the lip band can swell relatively strongly after stinging. This swelling is painless usually recede independently within a week. To help with swelling, the mouth can rinse several times a day with chamomile or salbeite.

Oral hygiene

Pay attention to good oral hygiene during 2 weeks. Rinse the mouth area with still water after eating and drinking and use mouthwash or sage or chamomile tea for 10 days after brushing your teeth. A special disinfection with an antiseptic is not necessary for lip band piercing.

Brushing

Clean your teeth as usual at least. Twice a day, but make sure you don’t hang on to the piercing with the toothbrush.

Work & Sports

With your new piercing, you can easily work or exercise. However, you should protect your piercing from punches (e.g. ball hits, boxing) during the healing phase.

Alcohol & Tobacco

Do not use alcohol and tobacco for 1 week. If you still smoke, rinse the mouth area with water, chamomile or salbeitee.

to eat

The lip-tape piercing is not associated with any restrictions in terms of food. However, make sure that you don’t bite into hard foods at first so that you don’t hurt the swollen lip band.

Post-check

In the case of lip-tape piercing, a follow-up check in and of itself is usually not necessary. If you feel unsafe, you may of course come to us at any time for a follow-up check.

Jewellery change

The first jewelry change should not be made 6 weeks ago, so that the tape is not injured during the change. If you feel after the sting that the jewelry is not visible enough, give the piercing a few weeks, usually it slips down a little bit, then you can see the jewelry better. Otherwise we will be happy to help you change jewellery after 6 weeks in the shop.

Download Care Instructions Nose PDF

Nose

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

2-3 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing only with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign hands.

Removing and moving the piercing jewelry

Do not remove the piercing jewelry or move it unnecessarily. With nose piercing, the stitch canal grows very quickly during the healing phase, so make sure that you don’t hang on to cloths or garments.

If you lose the plug, you can carefully try to use a clean, normal stud – make sure you don’t hurt the plug.

If you can’t use a replacement, come to our studio, we’ll help you reattach the plug.

Disinfection

Clean and disinfect your piercing and the injury for 2 weeks twice a day with octenisept and a cotton swab. After 2 weeks, you can remove any small crusts with a cotton swab and a little water.

In sleep

We recommend that you cover the piercing with a patch for the first few nights. At night there is a risk that the nose plug will fall out and the stitch channel will grow very quickly.

Sports & Work

If you are doing team sports, protect your piercing with a patch for the first few weeks – do not remove the jewelry for the workout, otherwise there is a risk that you will not be able to use the jewelry again.

For activities with dirt and dust, we recommend that you protect your piercing for the first few weeks with a patch or with Prontolind Gel (available from us in the studio and shop).

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

In the first 2-3 weeks, be free to avoid swimming pool, sauna, solarium and bubble bath. Sea water or salt water is not a problem. However, contact with sand is unfavorable.

Makeup

We recommend that you do not apply any makeup over your nose piercing for 2-3 weeks, as it clogs the stitch canal and delays the healing.

Jewellery change

The first jewelry change should not be made before healing. This is especially true for rings that can injure the wound canal. We will gladly change the jewelry after about 8 weeks.

Come to us after about 2-3 weeks. We will control your piercing and shorten it if necessary.

First change of jewellery

We will gladly change the jewelry after about 8 weeks in the shop. The attachments can be replaced beforehand. In the case of rings, this first healing phase must be waited for so that the stitch channel is not injured when changing.

Problems with healing

Ear cartilage piercings are sensitive and healing can take a relatively long time. Even if the piercing looks good from the outside, this does not mean that it is definitely healed. The inner stitch channel can be very sensitive and susceptible even after a long time. Be patient and take care of your piercing!

Check the closure parts regularly and “follow them” if necessary. We accept no liability for lost essays.

Ohrläppchen (geschossen oder gestochen)

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Earlobes shot

Healing time

8-12 weeks

Wash hands

Only touch your new stud with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign hands.

Removing and moving the stud

Do not remove the stud on your own during the first 8 weeks and do not move or play around unnecessarily. Also avoid scratching the crusts with the fingernails during healing. It is also important not to change the position of the closure. So do not push the closure closer to the earlobe, but leave it in the original position so that the skin can breathe.

Disinfection

Clean and disinfect your stud and the injury twice a day during 2 weeks with octenisept and a cotton swab.

Work & Sports

With your new stud, you can work or exercise without any problems. However, you should protect your piercing during the healing phase from impacts (e.g. ball hits, boxes), from pressure and friction (e.g. helmet) and from dirt and dust.

If you are exposed to fine dust at work, we recommend that you protect the stud with Prontolind Gel for the first 2 weeks (available from us in the studio or in the shop). The same applies to contact with horses.

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

Showers

You can easily shower with your new stud. It is important that you rinse the stud with water at the end to remove shower residue.

Post-check

As a rule, no special follow-up check is required for shot studs. But if you have any questions or are unsure, you may come to us spontaneously at any time for a follow-up check.

First change of jewellery

After 8 weeks you can change your stud for the first time. If necessary, we will be happy to help you in the shop with your first change of jewellery. As a follow-up decoration, a plug made of surgical steel is recommended – contrary to the conventional opinion, silver and gold are not particularly suitable for a first change. Similarly, the use of “Kitsch” should be avoided, as the nickel content in these cheaper jewelry varieties can often be too high.

Care after healing

You can clean your stud with water as part of your “daily basic cleaning”. From time to time it is also recommended to clean the plug well, e.g. with a cotton swab (also in the gaps). Simply use water or a disinfecting agent.

Labia

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

1-3 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing only with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign, unwashed hands.

Moving and removing the piercing jewelry

To ensure that the swelling decreases rapidly, you should not move and touch the piercing too much. After the swelling has decreased after 3-6 days, the piercing usually heals quickly. Try to avoid pressure points due to too tight underwear or trousers.

Do not remove your piercing independently during the first 6 weeks, as the stitch canal has not been completely healed by then.

Hygiene

For the first 2-3 weeks, refrain from sauna, solarium, swimming pool and foam baths. Contact with foreign bodily fluids (saliva and semen) should also be avoided.

Care

During the first 2 weeks, the piercing should always be washed off in the daily hygiene of PH-neutral soap and then rinsed in the shower piercing with clean water and pushed back and forth until all the foam is washed off. Dry well after showering and clean with octenisept and a cotton swab.

The disinfection with Octenisept should be done twice daily during the first 2 weeks. Do not use wound ointments or creams.

Sport and work

As a rule, you can work with your new piercing right away and do sports. Best with comfortable, not too tight underwear, so that there is no too much friction and irritation of the piercing.

Control of piercing and jewelry change

If necessary, you can spontaneously come to our studio for a follow-up check after 3-4 weeks. We will control the piercing on the course of healing. If everything goes to your satisfaction, follow-up is not mandatory.

At the first jewelry change we will be happy to help you in the shop after about 8 weeks.

general

If there is more severe post-bleeding, prolonged swelling or pain, please contact us in the studio. Do not remove the piercing on your own.

Healing time

2-3 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing only with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign hands.

Removing and moving the piercing jewelry

Do not remove the piercing jewelry during the first 6 weeks. However, you can fold up your septum piercing in the first few days if necessary. Moving the piercing doesn’t hurt him.

Disinfection

Clean and disinfect your piercing and the injury for 2 weeks twice a day with a cotton swab and a little octenisept.

Work & Sports

With your new piercing, you can easily work or exercise. However, you should protect your piercing from beatings during the healing phase if possible. If you come into contact with fine dust at work, we recommend that you protect your piercing for the first 2 weeks with the Prontolind Gel (available from us in the studio and in the shop).

Swimming

Do not use chlorine water in the first 2-3 weeks.

Showers

You can easily shower with your new piercing. It is important that you rinse the piercing well with water at the end to remove shower residue.

Control & Shorten the Piercing

In the case of septum piercing, a follow-up check in and of itself is usually not necessary. If you feel unsafe, you may of course come to us at any time for a follow-up check.

Usually the septum piercing is not shortened, but if you would like to have the essays changed in the first few weeks, we will be happy to help you in the shop.

Jewellery change

The first jewelry change should not be made before 6-8 weeks. This is especially true for rings that can injure the wound canal. We will gladly change the jewelry in the shop after about 6 weeks.

Care after healing

You can clean your piercing with water as part of your “daily basic cleaning”. From time to time it is recommended to clean the piercing well, e.g. with a cotton swab (also in the gaps). Simply use water or a disinfecting agent.

Surface (neck, décolleté, sideburn, etc.)

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

3-9 months.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing only with washed hands. No contact by tobacco fingers.

Removing and moving the piercing jewelry

Never remove the jewelry on your own during Surface Piercing, otherwise it will be difficult to re-insert. Avoid playing around with piercing during healing. This allows you to prevent unnecessary swelling and overstimulation of the piercing. If possible, try to avoid pressure points on your new piercing (e.g. by too much pressure when sleeping, on the sofa, etc.).

Disinfection

Clean and disinfect your piercing and the injury externally for 2 weeks twice a day with octenisept and a cotton swab.

Showers

You can easily shower with your new piercing. It is important that you rinse the piercing well with water at the end to remove shower residue.

Swimming, Sauna & Solarium

In the first 2-3 weeks, be free to avoid swimming pool, sauna, solarium and bubble bath. Sea water or salt water is not a problem. However, contact with sand is unfavorable.

Post-check

Normally, a Surface Piercing does not require special follow-up. But make sure that the essays lie nicely flat on the skin. If the necks of the piercing are visible after some time or start to hang out, please check with us in the studio so that we can customize the jewelry. The same applies if the piercing should swell strongly and the attachments should be pressed into the skin.

Jewellery change

Usually only the attachments are exchanged during Surface Piercing – our shop staff will be happy to help you. If the staff still needs to be replaced, do not do this on your own, but let us help you in the shop or studio.

Care after healing

You can clean your piercing with water as part of your “daily basic cleaning”. From time to time it is recommended to clean the piercing well, e.g. with a cotton swab (also in the gaps). Simply use water or a disinfecting agent.

Tongue

Be sure to keep the following points in mind to avoid unwanted side effects. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately!

Healing time

3-6 weeks. After the tongue swells strongly and causes pain during 2-3 days, tongue piercings usually heal quickly after decrease in swelling.

Wash hands

Touch the piercing (if at all) only with washed hands. No contact with tobacco fingers or through foreign hands.

Swelling

To reduce the swelling, you can suck ice cubes (preferably from chamomile tea or salbeitee) and drink plenty of cold, still water from the start.

Oral hygiene

Care for your mouth area for the first 10 days in the morning and evening with a disinfecting mouthwash: e.g. with Kamillosan Liquidum or a dental care mouthwash.

After eating and drinking, you can rinse your mouth with chamomile tea, salbeitee or still water. Limit yourself to the use of mouthwash in the morning and evening after brushing your teeth and use the natural rinses during the day.

to eat

For the first 10 days, avoid raw milk, yoghurt and yoghurt drinks, Rivella and Redbull. Furthermore, try to avoid acidic, spicy and too hot edibles. The food intake can be a little awkward with a swollen tongue, so reduce the food and take your time to eat. If your food intake is in pain, you can still switch to pureed and soft foods.

Alcohol & Tobacco

Be sure to abstain from alcohol and tobacco for 10 days. If you still smoke, rinse the mouth area with chamomile tea, salbeitee or still water.

Tongue Kisses & Oral Sex

For the first 2 weeks do not have tongue kisses and oral sex.

Work & Sports

As a rule, you can work with your new piercing right away. For “very communicative” or dusty work, it is recommended to rest for 2-3 days first. Also for sports activities we recommend a break of 2-3 days.

Talk

Speaking is not usually a problem. Since the tongue can swell during 2-3 days, we still recommend that you give the “vielrederei” a short break. But be careful to articulate yourself clearly so that you don’t get used to the lispelnation unnecessarily.

Control & Shorten the Piercing

Come to us after about 1 week. We will control and shorten your piercing. We do the same again after about 2 weeks.

First change of jewellery

The first jewelry change should not be made before healing. We will gladly change the jewelry after 6 weeks. Normally you can then change your piercing independently.

Piercing attachments

In the mouth, piercing attachments can discolor or detach over time. This is a natural process and we do not accept any liability for it.
